The Grand Finale of the IMAC Summer Class 2026, jointly organised by IMAC Cochin Kalabhavan, Bahrain Media City, and IMAC Academy, was held in grand style at the BMC Auditorium on Thursday, August 27, 2026.
The colourful evening featured a variety of performances by the summer class students, including a Pooja dance, patriotic songs, cinematic dances, solo performances, martial arts demonstrations, and keyboard presentations. The children impressed the audience by confidently showcasing the talents and skills they had developed during the two-month summer programme.
A major highlight of the evening was the premiere of the short film Njanum Oru Pravasi, written and directed by Vichu Perukavu and produced by Francis Kaitharath. Featuring the summer class students and teachers, the film beautifully portrayed human relationships, expatriate life, hidden struggles, and real-life experiences. It received an overwhelmingly positive response from the audience for its meaningful theme and impressive visual presentation.
Renowned writer and poet Manoj Kalarickal, who arrived from Kerala, attended the event as the Special Guest. Other distinguished guests included Shahjahan Karuvannur, an official of the BMC Sravana Mahotsavam 2026 Organising Committee; Francis Kaitharath, Chairman and Managing Director of BMC; Shirly Antony, Operations Director; and Jemy John, Executive Manager of BMC.
The event was formally inaugurated with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries in the presence of the students, teachers, parents, and the entire organising team.
Welcoming the gathering, Francis Kaitharath expressed his happiness over the overwhelming participation of children despite the uncertainties and challenging circumstances prevailing in the Gulf region. He emphasised the importance of nurturing children’s talents alongside their academic education and helping them grow into responsible individuals who can contribute positively to society.
He congratulated Operations Director Shirly Antony, Executive Manager Jemy John, all the teachers, team members, parents, and students for their dedication and collective efforts in making the summer programme a remarkable success. He also introduced the social welfare and security scheme initiated by Bahrain Media City to support the health, safety, and well-being of expatriates.
Addressing the gathering, Manoj Kalarickal congratulated the children and appreciated the efforts of the organisers. He wished IMAC Cochin Kalabhavan continued success in its mission to identify and nurture young talent. Shahjahan Karuvannur also spoke on the occasion and extended his best wishes to the children and the entire team.
The prize distribution ceremony of IMAC Kids Fest 2026, conducted as part of the summer classes, was another important highlight of the event. The participating children had been grouped into three teams—Batman, Spiderman, and Superman—and competed in a variety of literary, artistic, cultural, and sports events.
Manoj Kalarickal, Francis Kaitharath, Nisha Francis, Shahjahan Karuvannur, and Shirly Antony presented trophies and medals to the winners of the various competitions. Certificates were also awarded to all the participating children in recognition of their enthusiasm and achievements.
A special memento was presented to Kripajah Molly George, who gracefully hosted the Grand Finale. Tokens of appreciation were also presented to the teachers and team members who played key roles in successfully conducting the summer classes.
Vichu Perukavu, director of Njanum Oru Pravasi, and the film’s cinematographer, Ren, were honoured by Francis Kaitharath with mementos and traditional ceremonial shawls in recognition of their creative contributions. Francis Kaitharath and Nisha Francis were also honoured for their valuable support and encouragement.
BMC Executive Manager Jemy John delivered the vote of thanks, expressing sincere gratitude to the dignitaries, parents, teachers, students, organising committee members, and everyone who contributed to the success of the programme.
The event was attended by several prominent socio-cultural personalities, parents, well-wishers, and members of the BMC Sravana Mahotsavam 2026 Organising Committee. The memorable evening brought the two-month IMAC Summer Class 2026 to a joyful and successful conclusion.
